Dachshunds, Dachshunds Everywhere
For Kristin Seguin, it just makes sense to come to WienerFest Montreal. She’s been entering her dachshunds, Muntzy and Duke, in the annual event for the past four years, and they typically do well—each pup usually nabs a trophy (only Muntzy did this year, though Duke performed admirably too).
Seguin was one of close to 200 dachshund owners and enthusiasts who gathered in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Park on Saturday afternoon for the sixth annual WienerFest, a day full of races, costume contests and tons of tiny daschunds running as fast as their tiny dachshund legs permit.
Dachshunds are apparently not too keen on getting wet, but the light rain did little to dampen the spirits of the most dedicated competitors, a group that included Internet-famous dachshund Crusoe, whose patriotic Mountie costume garnered first prize in the costume contest (or rather, the “All-Dressed Hot Dog” contest).
Registration for the event cost $15.00. Proceeds went towards Animal Adoption Montreal, Tiny Paws Dog Rescue and Dachshund Rescue of Canada.
With an event bursting with cuteness such as this, the photos speak for themselves. Click through and enjoy.
