The Concordia Stingers men’s basketball team were eliminated from the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec’s final-four playoffs on Friday night, losing 74-60 to the McGill Redmen at Bishop’s University’s Mitchell Gymnasium.

SportsQuick Exit for Concordia
Smiles were a rarity on the Stingers bench following their 54-47 loss against the UQAM Citadins on Thursday night at Bishop’s University’s Mitchell Gymnasium. The Citadins clinched a berth in the Réseau de sport étudiant Quebec basketball finals with their win, eliminating Concordia from the four-team playoffs.

While Canadians eagerly await to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup this coming June and July, Team Canada is already preparing for the main event by playing in the Cyprus Cup. Canada won their first game this past Wednesday, a 2-0 victory over Scotland.

SportsCarabins Sail Into Second Round
The game plan was simple: Win, and continue the season to live another day. Lose, and the season is over. Unfortunately for the Concordia Stingers women’s hockey team, they couldn’t muster enough offense and were eliminated from the postseason after losing 3-1 to the Universite de Montreal Carabins Saturday afternoon at Ed Meagher Arena.

John Dore has been the man on the sidelines of every men’s basketball game for the past 26 years, as well as the man behind the never-frowning but stern lips and eyes permanently pinched from smiling, or maybe exhaustion.
