The Stingers women’s soccer team saw 10 players graduate from their program at the end of last season, meaning a number of new faces will take over the team. The returning, and remaining, veterans are eyeing the postseason as the team has not made the playoffs since 2006.

It has now been five days that the Concordia Stingers men’s rugby program have returned to camp after winning the RSEQ championship last season. In addition to the beautiful weather, an aura of sheer optimism is floating in the humid air.

SportsStingers Rebranded
The buzz is back at Concordia University. Classes are back in session, students have returned to their familiar confines downtown or at Loyola, and Concordia’s sports team will all be back in action. The Stingers brand, however, will look noticeably different the next time you get to see them on the field, ice or court.

For the Concordia Stingers, fall 2015 will mark a new school year full of change: a rebranding campaign, which includes a new logo and updated jerseys unveiled last week, several new coaches, and for the first time, mandatory sexual consent workshops for all athletes.

Just days after unveiling their new uniforms, the Concordia Stingers football team looked to begin their new era with a victory over the Sherbrooke Vert et Or. A packed Concordia Stadium filled with froshers and alumni seemed to provide the perfect setting for ConU. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be.
