Feb. 28 was the last day of the Concordia Stingers women’s hockey league campaign. The team lost their playoff game to the Université de Montréal Carabins and exited the post-season festivities. For some of those Stingers, it was the curtain call for their hockey careers as they ventured off into new passions, but not for Audrey Morand and Alyssa Sherrard.

SportsWomen’s Rugby: Demolishing the Competition
Two games in, the Concordia Stingers women’s rugby team have obliterated their opposition. This past Sunday, the Bishop’s Gaiters were their latest victim after defeating them by a score of 80-7 at Concordia Stadium. In their last two games, the Stingers have scored 137 points. In that same span, they have only allowed 10.

SportsMen’s Rugby: Heavy Rain, Big Result
The RSEQ reigning champions successfully passed the first hurdle of the year during their season opener with a 20-13 win over the Bishop’s Gaiters on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

SportsWomen’s Soccer: Un-Hive-ly
It was a tough outing for Concordia’s women’s soccer team as they fell to rival McGill University 4-0 this past Friday night at Concordia Stadium. The Martlets were lead by Audrey-Ann Coughlan, who scored twice for the visitors. Daphnee Morency-Roussin and Rebecca Green also found the back of the net as McGill cruised to a season opening victory.

SportsMen’s Soccer: Stingers Score Four
Thanks to two goals from freshman Eli Barutciski, the Stingers men’s soccer team defeated bitter rivals, the McGill Redmen 4-0 this past Friday night at Concordia Stadium. It is the first victory for the Stingers in the RSEQ conference since Oct. 27, 2013.
