Creative Problem-Solvers at Your Concordia
In accordance with the upcoming CSU elections, I felt it was important to indulge in sharing my opinion on one of the candidates running with Your Concordia for the position of Fine Arts Councillor; I find her to be particularly endearing.
The thing that becomes evident when you meet Alison Moenck is that she’s going to make it. Her confidence is ferocious and she’s not afraid to tell you her opinions. We knew one another through a mutual friend initially, but over the years have become well acquainted. We’ve shared numerous classes and later came across one another in our extracurricular activities.
Our paths crossed most notably this year, as we were both voting council members for the Fine Arts Student Alliance. Alison represented the Fibres Student Association and I, the Concordia Undergraduate Journal of Art History.
Alison proved to be one of the group’s most enthusiastic members, openly vocalizing her interest in the policies of student government and ensuring that equal-voice and equal opportunity were afforded to all Fine Arts students. Furthermore, as a representative of FASA, she was always knee-deep in some project; if we met in the hallway, we would exchange brief words as she ran off to work on a show, to fundraise, or to say hello to one of the many people around who wanted to talk to her.
She wears many other hats too.
She’s an RA at Grey Nuns and has become passionately knowledgeable about the interests of the Concordia student body—she is, after all, constantly surrounded by them.
She’s the VP Communications for the Cinema Students Association.
Need I mention that she’s also a full-time student who gets straight As?
It becomes rapidly clear when considering her credentials that Miss Moenck has a multifaceted skill set. She’s a creative problem-solver and she’s always thinking outside the box.
She’s positive, driven, intelligent and highly capable. She seems to know everyone in the Fine Arts department and beyond. What more could you ask for in a candidate?
This year for the CSU elections, I support Your Concordia and Alison Moenck for Fine Arts Councillor.
