  The Concordia Stingers women’s basketball team lost 72-48 to the McGill Martlets this past Saturday, and the term bad would be an understatement. Stingers were held to under 10 points in a quarter twice during the game, giving them their fifth loss in their last six games.

  The Concordia Stingers wrapped up a home-and-home series against the McGill Redmen this past Saturday, edging McGill 51-44. ConU was led by guard Mukiya Post’s 12 points in the victory. McGill’s Francois Bourque led his team with 13 points in the loss.

  On the court, Stingers rookie Ken Beaulieu makes his presence felt through his play. As top scorer, the team relies on him, and when the opportunity presents itself, he will raise the roof with a slam-dunk, celebrated with a jubilatory roar.

  Every year a new crop of players comes to training camp to try out for the Concordia Stingers hockey teams, and coaches are faced with the tough task of forming a competitive roster to battle through a season. Behind each team are managers whose tasks, from sharpening skates to ensuring players eat nutritiously, also make them essential for success.

  The Concordia Stingers fell 4-3 to the University of Ontario Institute of Technology Ridgebacks at the Ed Meagher Arena on Sunday afternoon. The Stingers strong second period and multiple scoring chances were not enough to collect the team’s ninth win of the year.

  With the playoffs set to start at the end of the month, the Concordia Stingers women’s hockey team continued to roll along on the road, winning by a convincing 3-1 score versus the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees Friday night.

  The Concordia Stingers dropped their most recent contest to the Laval Rouge et Or this past Thursday night, losing 79-77 at the Concordia Gymnasium. The Stingers failed to keep pace in the standings, and allowed Laval to jump to second in the RSEQ.

  It is natural for the heartbeat to hasten in a game of dodgeball, as staying alive as long as possible is the primary objective. Conceptually, it’s a simple game but still a novelty for some Concordia University students, even if they don’t completely understand the concept.
