Creative Director and Graphics Editor By-Election to be held June 22

The Link will be running by-elections on June 22 at 2 p.m. in our office (LB-717) and via Zoom for the positions of Creative Director and Graphics Editor.

All staff members can run and vote in the by-election.

Those interested must submit a one-page cover letter explaining the candidate’s reasons for running, goals and any relevant experience for the position. This letter must be submitted no later than June 15 at 4 p.m., along with a portfolio of three contributions to The Link relevant to the position to which they are applying. 

Those applying for the position of graphics editor must submit a portfolio of three past contributions to The Link and also submit at least two examples of other work within the medium of the position.

Those applying for creative director must submit a portfolio of three past contributions to The Link and also submit at least two sample layouts and one other visual form.

The letter and other required materials must be sent to editor@thelinknewspaper.ca and business@thelinknewspaper.ca by 4 p.m. on June 15. 

Interested candidates must read the job description for the position they want before applying.

To be considered staff, students must have contributed four times this semester or three times if they were staff in the previous semester. For any questions about your eligibility email editor@thelinknewspaper.ca.

Creative Director

*Honourarium: $740.60/biweekly (Minimum 23 hours a week)

Design the visual layout of the newspaper. Lay it out, make it pretty, and don’t be afraid to break the rules. Lead the visual team and help dream up something special for our social media.

Graphics Editor

*Honourarium: $483/biweekly (Minimum 15 hours a week)

You’re the illustrator extraordinaire. Find a way to visualize the tough stories and the easy stories, with the help of some great contributors.
