The Concordia Stingers men’s rugby team beat the McGill Redmen 28-21 in their Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec championship final this Sunday afternoon, for their first championship since 2005.

On one side of the Concordia Stadium stands, there were chants from the Stingers fans. On the other side, Carabins fans tried to outscream their rivals. Needless to say, it was an emotional semifinal game for both teams and their fans on Sunday afternoon.

In a game Stingers men’s rugby head coach Clive Gibson described as his team’s best game in four years, the Stingers managed to retain second place in the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec standings with a 17-17 draw against the McGill Redmen at Percival Molson Stadium this past Friday night.
