Application and eligibility for The Link’s by-election (Vol. 41)

The Link is looking for passionate journalists to fill the positions of Copy Editor and Fringe Editor for Volume 41.

The election will be held online over Zoom at 5 p.m. on Oct. 29, 2020.

If you would like to apply, submit a candidacy letter explaining what you’ve got to bring to the team and include links to three of your best Link articles. Send these to secretary@thelinknewspaper.ca, CC: editor@thelinknewspaper.ca, no later than 5 p.m. on Oct. 22, 2020.

Copy Editor

Keep articles out of synonym hell and catch the mistakes, big and small. Make the dull stories exciting and the exciting stories even better.

Fringe Arts Editor

Expose all that’s cool and underground in the Montreal art scene. From gallery openings to bands with three name changes, you’re the go-to person for what’s up-and-coming in Montreal’s art scene.

To be eligible, individuals must have contributed four times to four separate issues. Questions can be directed to editor@thelinknewspaper.ca.

Who’s eligible to apply and vote: Olivier Neven, Michelle Malnasi, Esteban Cuevas, Nicholas Dundorf, Joey Bruce, Marcus Bankuti, April Tardif Levesque, Nanor Froundjian, Elias Grigoriadis, Sheena Macmillan, Alexandre Denis, Mzwandile Poncana.

One contribution needed to apply and vote: Jad Abukasm, Autumn Darey, Abegail Ranaudo, Ray Resvick, Maria Chabelnik, Stéphanie Ricci.

Two contributions needed to apply and vote: Mariana Chajon Oliveros, Gabriela Vasquez-Rondon, Daylen Conserve, Chahinez Dib, Caroline Marsh, Bree Rockbrand, Thomas Lundy, Talia Kilot, Peter Vryonis, Kate Lindsay Taeuschel, Carleen Loney.

Please note, remaining contributions must be made in separate weeks by Oct. 18 to qualify.
