Students Experience Online Service Disruption
Concordia students trying to get to class this past week were left blind when the MyConcordia web portal crashed.
“A high volume [of users] were expected but it was higher than expected,” said Chris Mota, the university’s Director of Media Relations. “The [Instructional and Information Technology Services] team reacted quickly to diagnose the problem and resolve the situation. Server capacity was added to address the capacity issue.”
A message on the MyConcordia homepage warned of the problem and provided an alternate link for students to access their schedules.
Political science student Dennis Sloutsky said he regained service at 1:00 P.M. but he missed his appointments that day.
“It was disappointing because I was short on time,” said Sloutsky. “I was trying to get my book list.”
