Art Matters + Nuit Blanche Call For Submissions
Are you looking for a new way to get your art straight from your brain and out to the masses?
Art Matters, a student-run festival which celebrates the creative ingenuity of Concordia’s vivacious art scene, has teamed up with Nuit Blanche, and they are calling all Concordians for submissions.
Whether you’re a performing poet, painter, dancer, sculptor, musician, actor, singer, mime or something beyond categorical definition – they want your art, and they want it now.
For the unschooled, Nuit Blanche is an all-night arts festival that began in Paris, but has since spread to become a worldwide cultural phenomenon, taking place in such cultural hubs as Amsterdam, Florence and right here in Montreal.
Many kinds of art exhibits put on display throughout the city, generally free to the public, create a unique atmosphere of art for art’s sake, and a jovial party time for all.
It’s a one-night-only expressive extravaganza, and you have been formally invited to be a part of it.
This year, the 2014 Art Matters + Nuit Blanche event is on Saturday, March 1 at Mainline Theatre (3997 St-Laurent Blvd.), while the Art Matters festival itself runs from March 14 to March 28.
If you are interested in submitting your work, the deadline is Wednesday, Jan. 15 at midnight. Submission guidelines and details are available on the Art Matters and Nuit Blanche Facebook page.
