Tire-toi une bûche: “Tire-toi une bûche” literally translates to “pull yourself a log.” Whether it was back in the days of lumberjacks or at summer camp, a big log makes for a convenient
improvised seat. In the spirit of preserving the wilderness in our daily lexicon, the expression “tire toi une bûche” colloquially translates as the invitation to “grab a seat,” and join the group.
