CSU Website Hacked

Hackers Claim to be Pro-Palestinian Algerians

The CSU’s website was noticed to be hacked early on May 29, 2015.

The Concordia Student Union’s website was hacked early Friday morning by what seems to be an Algerian group called Admirale_Mouh or Dz Mafia.

The group appears to be the equivalent of Algerian Anonymous and has bragged on its website about hacking 1,000 websites this week, according to the CSU’s IT support. The hacked site still contains malware and may infect visitors’ computers.

Last week the same group hacked and implanted malware onto the CSU’s site servers. IT is working on restoring the website by tonight.

A number of other websites have been similarly hacked. Sometimes the group leaves behind pro-Palestinian messages and other times suggesting websites upgrade their security. In one case Admirale_Mouh offer to help patch up the website.

No word yet on the extent of the damage, but the old HOJO classifieds still work.
