An accidental fire alarm disrupted studies and flooded the streets with Concordians on Sept. 12. Students were evacuated from the Hall Building of Concordia’s Sir George Williams campus at around 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

The cause of the alarm is unknown, but Chris Mota, director of media relations at Concordia, speculated that it may have been caused by work being done on the sprinkler system.

“There was no smoke, no water infiltration, nothing. So it would appear that there was something in the system that set it off,” she said.

Students filtered back into the building at around 5:00 p.m., causing a traffic jam on the escalators.
