CASA Election Results: Evan Pitchie Elected President

CASA election results are in, following eight days of campaigning and four of polling.

Evan Pitchie was elected as CASA’s new president.

“I am confident that together we will work together on making sure the John Molson School of Business continues to support and provide ‘out of classroom’ learning opportunities to the business leaders and executives of the future,” Pitchie wrote in a statement about his win.

The presidential race was close. Nine-points made the difference between Pitchie and former candidate Karl Guiragossian. Pitchie garnered 217 votes; Guiragossian garnered 208.

Quorum for the elections is 2.5 per cent—CASA serves just over 7,000 students. 488 students voted, which amounts to about 6.9 per cent of students under CASA.
