What if they threw an election and nobody came?

That seems to be the case as the relatively sparse amount of candidates for the Concordia Student Union general election were announced by CSU Chief Electoral Officer Ismail Holoubi on Sunday night.

While full affiliations of executive candidates were announced, led by current CSU Councilor Melanie Hotchkiss and Arts and Science Federation of Associations VP Internal Schubert Laforest, few candidates were announced for council and senate seats.

Fifteen candidates for the 14 Arts and Science council seats were announced, as well as three each for Fine Arts, Engineering and Computer Science and the John Molson School of Business. Fine Arts and ECA students are each represented by three councilors, while the JMSB has six seats. There are no candidates running for the four Independent Student seats.

More to come.
