Stinger Picked for Team World

Congratulations to Concordia Stinger Shaquille Armstrong, who was selected from hundreds of athletes to participate in the International Federation of American Football’s 2nd annual Team World vs. Team USA match.

Armstrong—a 6’2, 288-pound Defensive Tackle who joined the Stingers’ lineup in March 2010—was chosen as one of 22 Canadians to play with a 40-player World Team. The team is comprised of athletes from eight different countries and four continents.

The World Team will play against 45 of the top 19-and-under high school seniors from the United States on Feb. 2 in Austin, Texas.

Before starting at Concordia, Armstrong played in many of Football Manitoba’s top programs, including the St. James Rods and the Winnipeg Rifles, and was selected for the U17 and U19 Provincial Teams.
