The Printemps 2015 collective gathered once again at Parc Emilie-Gamelin to protest against austerity measures set by the Quebec government Monday night.

Similar to Saturday’s afternoon protest, there weren’t any notable confrontations between the police and thousands of protesters who participated.

Anytime protesters and police officers did meet, there was nothing more than a standoff or a small tussle. Protesters would often yell chants and raise two fingers in the air — their call sign for this year’s protests — in the face of the police.

The protesters spent a good deal of time on the streets of St. Laurent, Mont Royal, René Lévesque and Saint-Denis, shouting, marching and blowing bubbles in the streets. All the while, police kept pace with the group, accompanying them on foot, bicycles and horseback.

The night concluded at Parc Émilie-Gamelin as the majority of protesters filed into the Berri-UQAM metro peacefully. The rest of the group danced in the streets as police enclosed the area from Labelle and Sainte Catherine to Berri.
