Heard in the Hall

What sort of student spaces do you think Concordia is lacking?

  • “We’re lacking a kind of really nice and quiet study space. The library isn’t able to handle the amount of students or the needs of students, because it’s really hard to get a study room, and those are really the quietest spaces in the school. Except for studying on really random levels in the nighttime, because a lot of people leave at that time.”

  • “I do feel that Concordia in general is lacking student spaces. There’s no student spaces to actually sit down and have a conversation because you always feel like you’re disrupting either a class or someone or you’re not supposed to be there. It’s kind of like, you walk in and you walk out at Concordia.”

  • “I think that one of the spaces that Concordia could use would probably be a bigger place for actually eating, because a lot of people at the People’s Potato eat on the floor and there are not a lot of chairs for everybody. So when you get up there at lunchtime, it’s like—this is the only cafeteria area, and it’s not made to accommodate everybody.”

  • “I would like to see not so much more spaces at Concordia, as opposed to just cleaner ones that we already have, because there are a lot of messes around.”

  • “A space that is lacking here in Concordia is a good green space where people could hang out, chill outside, maybe study or do something relatively active. It’s tough to have that kind of thing going on downtown because there are so many buildings in the way.”
