The St. Mathieu St. entrance to Guy-Concordia Metro is slated for an overhaul and will undergo renovations between March to August, according to a Concordia University announcement made on Dec. 19.

The construction, which will happen at night, will include the installation of new doors, floors, ceilings, lights and walls. The electrical and sprinkler systems will also be improved and four new turnstiles will be
installed. It’ll be a welcome improvement for a place that reportedly hasn’t seen a hammer swing since 1967.

While the majority of the work will be done by Société de transport de Montréal, Concordia announced it will also be doing some renovations at the Guy St. entrance in the GM building once the St. Mathieu St. work is complete.
