Screams In The Hall

Concordia On: Zombie Apocalypse

With the world economy crumbling, #Occupy protests happening throughout the world and a general depressive trend in world news, we decided to ask students about a more festive topic this week: Halloween.
So, we asked students what they would do in the (very) probable case of a Zombie Apocalypse:

“I think I would act like a zombie—that’s always a technique they use in the movies. But I still think that running is the best idea possible.”

“You join the Zombies, they always win. If you want to keep your flesh, walk in a bank, into the vault, and bring some food. [Zombies] aren’t that smart, what are they going to do? If you’re in the vault, they can’t get you.”

“I would probably climb somewhere where they couldn’t get to me, [like] the top of the building. I wouldn’t be a superhero, I would just [try to] outsmart them. I guess a shovel comes to mind [as a weapon] or I would probably carry a baseball bat—it’s pretty easy to carry around.”

“[I would] find an aircraft and fly away.”

“I would go far away from the city. I’m assuming that’s where the zombies would be. [I would go] where there are no people—like up North—and I would obviously stock up on reserves: food, water, guns.”

“The truth is, I would probably be the people in movie who stay there and die of shock. I would probably have a heart attack. The other thing would be to run and hide somewhere, because I’m a chicken and I don’t like blood.”

—Melissa Pascal
BA Sociology

“I would probably try to build a house or some sort of habitat under Earth, I’m [also] an architect student so I’ll try find a way so they won’t find me.”

“[I would] lock myself in a grocery store, then try to bring survivors there and try to help people. [Then] make a plan, an escape route, probably up north. Hopefully the infection wouldn’t get there.”
