The Faubourg deal has been put to rest, after a unanimous vote from Concordia’s Student Union Council.

After a presentation from the administration trying to convince Council of the benefits of the Faubourg site, CSU President Lex Gill and VP Clubs & Student Space Gonzo Nieto handed in their long-awaited report on the Student Centre.

The report called for Council to not only reject the Faubourg, but also for the executive to cease meeting and negotiating with the administration on the student centre project until further notice.

Another motion that carried was that the CSU move the responsibility of administering funds raised for a student centre since 2003 from Concordia to Scotiabank, where ethical investment options will be pursued.

Board of Governors CSU representative AJ West reminded council, however, that the decision of council will likely be discussed at tomorrow’s 8 a.m. Board meeting.
